Welcome to my blog!

As a child, when I was asked what I wanted to be when I "grew up"... my answer was anything from a "baby doctor" to a lawyer, to an author, to an actress, to a "mommy". I'm pretty sure that "photographer" never made the list. From a young age, I was interested in art. Drawing, painting, writing... creating something out of nothing. Maybe that is where the obsession with photos began...

...Or maybe it was one of the many Christmases that my mother made me re-open the same Christmas gift over and over until she got that "perfect" shot...

...It could have been the family vacations we took when I was forced to stand next to anything remotely interesting... anything that could be considered a "photo op"...

...Did I mention that I'm an only child?

When I finally got my first DSLR, I had no clue what I was doing. I didn't know how it worked or really even what to point it at.

But I knew that I liked it.
Loved it.
Couldn't get enough of it.

I never dreamed that my passion would become more than just a dream. But here I am... living that dream into reality.
I love what I do. Love it.

But even more than what I do, I love who I do it for. I'm what my grandma would call a "social butterfly".

I adore people.
And their stories....
...hearing them...
...writing them...
...and photographing them.

Life through my lens...
It's pretty fantastic :)

Sam and Chareena: Signal Hill Elopement Wedding

Here on this hill.

The words were engraved into the pathway leading to the place they would become husband and wife.

Here on this hill.

It couldn’t have been more fitting.

Because here on this hill they spent hours together… dating, laughing, snuggling, hand holding, and falling in love.

Here on this hill, we did a photoshoot before he left once again for military business.

Here on this hill, in the middle of their photoshoot, he got down on one knee and proposed.

And then… here we were… here on this hill… getting ready for the rest of forever.

Sam and Chareena decided against a traditional wedding and instead decided to elope. The picked a place that was meaningful to them… and were joined by Sam’s immediate family.

I was blown away and completely honored to be a part of such an intimate moment in their lives… and I ADORE the pictures

Sam and Chareena… thank you for allowing me into your life. Thank you for trusting me and letting me be witness to your love!

Here are some of my favorites from their elopement. And let me just say this… for a wedding with no bridal party or details, and no reception… I would not think I’d have so many pictures to blog. But even narrowing it down to THIS was so difficult! I guess that goes to prove that real, honest, true love is the very best photographic accessory

We met ahead of time to take pictures of just the two of them… I was SOOO thankful because by the time we started their ceremony the sun was already gone! It is sooooo crucial to be aware of your timing and the light on your day to get the BEST pictures!!!
