Welcome to my blog!

As a child, when I was asked what I wanted to be when I "grew up"... my answer was anything from a "baby doctor" to a lawyer, to an author, to an actress, to a "mommy". I'm pretty sure that "photographer" never made the list. From a young age, I was interested in art. Drawing, painting, writing... creating something out of nothing. Maybe that is where the obsession with photos began...

...Or maybe it was one of the many Christmases that my mother made me re-open the same Christmas gift over and over until she got that "perfect" shot...

...It could have been the family vacations we took when I was forced to stand next to anything remotely interesting... anything that could be considered a "photo op"...

...Did I mention that I'm an only child?

When I finally got my first DSLR, I had no clue what I was doing. I didn't know how it worked or really even what to point it at.

But I knew that I liked it.
Loved it.
Couldn't get enough of it.

I never dreamed that my passion would become more than just a dream. But here I am... living that dream into reality.
I love what I do. Love it.

But even more than what I do, I love who I do it for. I'm what my grandma would call a "social butterfly".

I adore people.
And their stories....
...hearing them...
...writing them...
...and photographing them.

Life through my lens...
It's pretty fantastic :)

ABC Coordinator luncheon: Corona Del Mar Event

There are moments in a person’s career where they feel that they have made it.

Moments that blow you away, and make you feel so blessed to do what you do.

One of those moments for me, was when I was contacted to shoot an event for the association of bridal consultants.

This event had a stellar team! I was so fortunate to be a part of it!

Mike and Sarah: Seal Beach Engagement

Engagements are by far my very favorite thing to shoot.

Sometimes I think if I could make a career shooting JUST engagement sessions, I just might!

Whenever I book a wedding, I immediately get excited for the engagement session!!!

I met up with Mike and Sarah at Seal Beach for their engagement session.

I think I have shot more sessions here than anywhere else… but each time I get to shoot here, the images end up so different!

I love these from Mike and Sarah’s engagement!

Starnes Family: Huntington Beach Maternity

Often, clients become friends.

But every now and then, friends become clients.

Cassie and I have known each other for several years. I was honored to shoot her wedding not long ago (you can see it here). She is such a great girl, and I was so excited when she asked me to shoot her maternity pictures. It was so fun being pregnant at the same time… and getting to talk about our growing bumps, and the craziness that happens when you’re pregnant.

I love this sweet maternity session with Cassie’s husband, Chuck and his daughter, Olivia. I love how they incorporated Olivia, and also some fun props. When clients bring along things that are personal it really adds so much to a session.

Baby Hudson definitely couldn’t have come to a better family!!!
